Thomas B. Murphy

Throughout his life Mr. Murphy poured himself into Bremen High School athletics. While serving on the Board of Education from 1948-1965, Tom was elected to the Georgia House of Representatives in 1960. He became the Speaker of the House in 1973, and while in that position, worked with the Georgia High School Association to ensure equitable competition between public and private schools. He and his wife Agnes Bennett Murphy were model servants to the Bremen community.
