Gene Gillespie

Coach, Teacher & Maintenance

In March of 1964 Gene Gillespie came to Bremen to substitute, but was retained and remained at the head of the classroom for 26 years. Gene served as part of the coaching staff from 1964 to 1970. After that, he kept his hand in athletics by taking up tickets during football season and keeping the clock at basketball games. He retired from the classroom in 1990, but joined the Maintenance Department mowing practice fields and building lockers (among other jobs) until 1999.
